Deputy Director of SEC Division of Trading and Markets to Leave SEC

SEC announced that James Brigagliano, a Deputy Director of the Division of Trading and Markets, will leave the SEC at the end of September after 25 years of public service.

Mr. Brigagliano has worked in the Division of Trading and Markets for the past 13 years and has managed oversight of trading practices, market structure reforms, and recent Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act rulemakings. He served as Co-Acting Director of the Division from April 2009 to January 2010. Mr. Brigagliano previously worked in the SEC’s Office of the General Counsel representing the SEC in a wide range of litigation in federal district and appellate courts.
